Introduction and Background

Ammonia (NH₃) is a colorless gas with a pungent odor, composed of nitrogen and hydrogen. It is one of the most important and widely produced industrial chemicals globally.
Naturally occurring from the decomposition of organic matter, ammonia is also synthesized on a large scale primarily through the Haber-Bosch process, reacting nitrogen gas (N₂) with hydrogen gas (H₂) under high temperature and pressure in the presence of a catalyst.
